Winter Tires

Fellow drivers, it's that time of year again! I've already put my winter tires on, but for those who don't have a set for their vehicle, I wanted to pass on this year's Consumer Search review! I found it very helpful for last year's purchase.

Best winter tire

• Superior grip on ice and snow
• Durable
• Quiet
• Low rolling resistance means better gas mileage

• Poor wet- and dry-road grip in some tests

"Budget snow tire" 

• Impressive on icy, snowy and wet roads
• Durable
• Inexpensive
• Studdable

• Unimpressive on dry roads
• Less ice grip than Michelin X-Ice Xi2

Studded snow tire

• Great on snow and ice
• Studded tire for cars, SUVs, minivans and light trucks

• Braking performance on dry or wet pavement
• Noisy on dry pavement
• Expensive
